NEW HERE?

We cannot wait to see you!

One of the most difficult things about coming to church is knowing what to expect. At FBC West Edmeston, we want you to feel comfortable and welcomed. As you join us this weekend, you have nothing to fear. We are not going to do anything to embarrass you, or point you out as “new.” Instead, we want you to be able to come right in, join us in worship, and learn about the God of all Creation along with us. It doesn’t matter where you are at on your Spiritual Journey, we want to provide you with a clear direction forward.

  • Commonly Asked Questions

    What should I wear?

Come as you feel comfortable, we have men in jeans and a polo shirt, to men in suits. Our pastor dresses typically out of humble respect for the Word of God and the pulpit, therefore he wears a suit and tie.

What kind of music do you sing?

We sing both contemporary choruses and traditional hymns.

Are there programs for my kids?

We love children at FBC West Ed.  We have a nursery for the little ones.  Often times you will find the pastor’s wife up there with their little ones.  We also have Children’s Church where the children will either go upstairs or into the Parish house for their own message and time of activity while the pastor delivers the message in the main service.  The children leave for children’s church with a teacher mid-service, it is okay if you would rather keep your children with you during the service as well (we understand what it is like to be parents).  After the service, the children return back to the Sanctuary and are invited to stay for Sunday School.

    What about my teenagers?

We encourage teenagers to remain in service with the adults.  We do have a Sunday School class for the teenagers that meets at 10 am.  This class is located up the back stairs and to the right.  We also encourage our youth to get involved with the youth group of another local Baptist Church of like faith.

Do you use a specific version of the Bible?

The pastor preaches out of the New American Standard Bible, but we encourage you to use whatever version you are comfortable with.

What else can I expect when I come?

Expect to hear the Word of God.  Expect to be invited back.  If you come on the first Sunday of the month expect to stay after Sunday School for our refreshing fellowship, with good food and time to get to know the people of the church.
