What We Believe
We believe the Bible is the Word of God. We believe the Bible to be complete without errors. We believe that the Bible is God’s specific revelation of Himself, in which He discloses to us who He is and what He is like. His very character is expressed to us on every page of Scripture.
We believe that God made us in His image. We believe that sin has distorted the image of God in each of us, for we are all sinners. We believe that man is incapable of saving himself or anyone else which is why we need a Savior.
We believe Jesus to be the only savior of mankind. He is very much completely God, at the same point He is very much completely a man, which made Him uniquely qualified to pay the penalty for the sins of mankind. We believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay that penalty, was buried, and rose again three days later validating the sufficiency of His death on the cross.
We believe that God the Father is all-knowing, all-powerful, and everywhere all at once. We believe that He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. We believe that all of history is shaped by God and that without Him there would be nothing. We also believe that the Father is a God who desires for each of us to have a personal relationship with Him. We believe God is faithful, just, merciful, gracious, and full of love. We believe that in the cross God demonstrates all of those characteristics all at once.
We believe that the Spirit will fill the believer, giving the believer a supernatural love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We believe the Spirit also guides us into truth. We believe the Spirit points to Jesus, as Jesus points to the Father. We also believe it is the Spirit’s job to convict people of their sins and to regenerate them to newness of life.
We believe sin separates us relationally from God. Sin is anything whether attitude or action that goes against the desires, will, or character of God. We believe that all of us are sinners.
We believe that one is saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone. We believe that salvation is the restoration of man’s broken relationship with God. We believe that salvation is only possible by allowing God to be Lord in your life, and by believing that Jesus died to pay your sins and that He rose from the dead claiming victory over death.
We believe it is the responsibility and privilege of every believer to go directly before God in personal prayer and Bible Study. We believe the individual believer should find themselves connected with a larger body of believers. We believe that each individual is given a unique calling by God and gift, but that all believers are called to make disciples, be witnesses of what God has done in their lives, and to strive to walk with God personally.
